# Preferred standalone SEC000 60 MHz core: original R3

**Status: owner's favorite / preferred standalone SEC000 60 MHz hardware baseline.**
Promoted on **2026-09-16** after the owner retested the exact archived R3 image.

The owner reported: "ArmourGeddon is not crashing" and preferred this original
stable version to the later 60 MHz cores. This adds a concrete game result to
the earlier report that R3 removed Workbench corruption. It is owner-reported
hardware evidence on the tested SEC000 board and workload. The report does
not specify a test duration or identify the other crashing build, so neither
is assigned here.

Use this exact image as the preferred standalone SEC000 60 MHz download and rollback reference.
The binary, BIT file and original source/report archive are unchanged.

The owner subsequently retested R7 and approved it as the
[unified TF030/68000 release](../releases/r7-unified/README.txt). R7 is the
current shared-CPU release; this R3 preference records the separate
standalone SEC000 ArmourGeddon result.

R3 predates the Toki-related R4 Blitter completion change and later TF030
compatibility work. Toki's TURBO-only feet flicker remains a known limitation;
the R4 change did not resolve it. The ArmourGeddon report does not establish
the cause of a later crash or universal compatibility.

R4 at 60 MHz remains a comparison image. The separate R4-based nominal 50 MHz
candidate remains experimental, with hardware testing pending; this report
does not validate or reject that candidate.

See [R3 results](r3-results.txt) and the
[preferred release files](../releases/r3-60mhz/README.txt).
